L
ike every person, every church has a history and a story. In April 1996 – on Easter Sunday –we held our first service with help from The Church on Rush Creek as a sponsor and six families that had a vision for reaching other families in our community for Christ. We met at Bryant Elementary in Southeast Arlington for the first year, then grew into Barnett Junior High. In September 2000 we were overjoyed to have our own place and moved into the 287 campus. Over the next 10 years, God helped us to impact the Southwest Arlington, Mansfield and Kennedale communities. In 2009 we began to explore and prepare to make a transition from the 287 campus. Our current temporary home is at Linda Jobe Middle School.
One of the most exciting things about our church is that we have a great future ahead. In the near future, we will be relocating to a new facility, and the ministry of reaching people for Christ and watching Him change lives will continue.

Our Strategy
If the Vision of a church is the “game plan”, then the strategy is the "playbook”. At Fellowship of the Metroplex we have developed a 3 step strategy to better connect people to our church.- Invite: The goal of Invite is to create an open and inviting atmosphere where people can discover what a genuine relationship to a church looks like.
Some examples of our Invite opportunities are:
- Sunday Worship Services
- FOM Halloween Houses
- Easter Events
- FX Live
- Special Events
- www.somethinggenuine.org
- Genuine Stories
- Marketing and word of mouth
- Involve: The goal of Involve is to encourage members and/or regular attenders to connect to a smaller group of the FOM family. It is impossible to develop genuine relationship is large environments.
Some examples of our Involve opportunities are:
- Next Steps
- Connect
- Life Games
- Community Connection
- FOM Ministries
- Special Events
- Invest The goal of Invest is to lead people to a commitment to the 5 Membership Covenants and to see FOM members introducing new people into this process.
