"Remembering To Celebrate Our God" by Pastor Scott Oldenburgh - Part 5 of 5 in the series “The Journey” - God jealously wants to be at the center of our lives. In fact, our lives should be a 365/24/7 act of worship to Him. One way for Christians to keep our lives focused on Him is to come together for corporate worship on Sunday mornings and at other times, in Life Groups, baptisms, etc. Or, as we walk in the park with our kids, look up at the heavens, swim in the ocean, etc. Worship is acknowledging God for who is He is, opening up our hearts to His perfect will and thanking Him that we are in His hands. Being a Christian allows us this freedom. Being human, we are designed and built to worship. So, who or what are you worshipping?
"Responding To God's Voice" by Pastor Scott Oldenburgh - Part 4 of 5 in the series "The Journey" - God's will is usually clear - the problem is not knowledge, but obedience. Scott talks about the longest shortest distance between our head and our heart - the disconnect between what we know and what we do. God does not try to hide His will from us and promises fulfillment/wholeness to those who obey Him. Scott lists examples of responding to God's will. The study guide expands on examples of how people responded to God's will in the Bible, with great thought-provoking questions.
"In Need Of God's Protection" by Pastor Scott Oldenburgh - Part 3 of 5 in the series "The Journey" - Many of us ask God to keep us "safe", but is that really the right thing to ask? In the Bible, God asks people to do very unsafe things, as this forced them to rely on Him more. It is a question of control. Being safe is us in control. Allowing God to use us in any situation, safe or otherwise, give control to God. God's protection is a journey of trust, which means, at times, we may not be safe, unharmed, unchallenged or get it right all the time. Scott talks about how God uses our journey as a means of developing trust in Him.
"Depending On God's Direction" by Pastor Scott Oldenburgh - Part 2 of 5 in the series "The Journey" - God has a journey planned for each Christian. The question is where is the journery heading. The path is not likely to be logical, the easiest or the quickest. If we trust God, He will give us just enough light to take the next step. The journey is more important to God than the destination. Scott provides practical reminders to help us know God's direction.
"Trusting In God's Provision", drama skit and message by Pastor Scott Oldenburgh - Part 1 of 5 in the series "The Journey" - This was the first Sunday in FOM's new interim facility. This message series is based on the exodus of one million Jews from Egypt to Israel/Palestine/Promised Land. People as groups and as individuals respond to God in one of three ways: Deny Him altogether, grumble and complain, or trust and celebrate. Scott talks about what it takes to learn to trust in God's provision.
